概述

The course describes low dimensional systems such as heterostructures (usually consisting from metals and semiconductor materials), the formation of a discrete energy levels in electronic nanodevices, potential energy profile and related electron transport. The course also describes the construction of magnetic (nonmagnetic) tunnel junctions, which are important for magnetic sensors and memory, e.g. their applications: magnetic random access memory, p-bit invertible logic based on random number generators, etc.

Required competence or courses that must be previously taken by students: Basics of solid state physics. Intermediate English.
