This course will provide a description and comparison of next generation wireless networks, especially IP (Internet Protocol)-based wireless networks. In particular, it will present insights into critical issues that may arise in designing wireless IP networks. It will illustrate the standards and network architectures defined by leading standards bodies for wireless IP networks. It will also discuss protocols in three major areas, namely, signaling, mobility, and security.
