語音學/音韻學

This course aims to introduce students to the study of speech sounds. The basic goals of this course are two-fold. One is to teach students phonetic aspects of speech sounds (how the sounds are articulated and the acoustic properties of speech), and the other is to teach students the ways in which speech sounds are structured in human languages (how to organize primary linguistic data, make descriptive generalizations, and provide formal analyses). We will examine a wide range of phonetics and phonological data sets from a variety of languages.

I won’t go over the course materials with you for the class that you missed randomly. You may take the course again when you are ready to commit.
