This course will introduce you to Motion Capture (MoCap) technology that digitally captures human movement for use in future of human communication research. The course will teach you everything from the basics of MoCap, the hardware of MoCap, and the software development kit of MoCap. The course is designed for people who are new to MoCap. You may have experienced some human-computer interaction before, but this course is suitable individuals who have never experienced MoCap. We will explain the MoCap and its applications, for instance, the VTubers, use MoCap to create a digital avatar that synchronize their facial expressions and body movements. The course helps students to learn about the foundations of MoCap and quantitative research methods, and to acquire an array of techniques related to data analysis.
