恐怖小說:洛夫克拉夫特(文類課:小說)

The course provides a close reading of selected works by H. P. Lovecraft. Recognized as "the" horror writer between E. A. Poe and Stephen King in American literature, Lovecraft attracts ambivalent, if not controversial, responses from both critics and readers. Loved by his fans and hated by critics, Lovecraft nevertheless stays strong with uncanny charm whose secret of may lie only in his works. While not meant to solve the Lovecraftian mystery, the course is meant to let his texts unravel themselves to reveal a path to a dubious relation of horror, language, and experience. n.b. the course lecture will be delivered in mandarin.
