1. 1. Surveys the field of bioengineering and the global impact of technology innovation in solving problems in medicine with an emphasis on the engineering tools and concepts. 2. Discusses the history, ethical/social implications, and career paths in bioengineering. May include tours of bioengineering research laboratories and demonstrations of bioengineering technologies.
