概述
This course is a study of speech sounds. The goal of the course is two-fold. One is to get students acquainted with fundamental issues including the international phonetic alphabet (IPA), articulatory phonetics, and acoustic properties of speech sounds. The other is to acquire an understanding of the way the sound system of human language works and the applications of the knowledge in second/foreign language learning and teaching.
